Frequently Asked Questions
about Karin's healing work:

What happens in a healing session?

The duration of a typical healing session is 90 minutes.  It may run a little shorter or longer, as requested or required.  We'll begin with a dialogue to assist you in identifying and understanding your presenting complaint, your expectations and your needs.  We'll also share a brief period of meditation in which you'll accurately visualize your healing intention.

We'll then move to the healing table.  You'll be fully clothed (with the exception of your shoes).  I'll completely focus my attention before commencing the hands-on healing work.  Most often, I'll begin at your feet and work upwards along the locations of your joints, your energy centers and, ultimately, into the specific areas of your presenting complaint.

What will I experience during a healing?

Individual experiences will differ from person to person, depending upon their ability to receive and process high-vibrational frequencies in the form of healing energy.  For some it will be a new experience and may take a few sessions in order to become fully comfortable.  For others, it will be easier to immediately relax into the healing process.

On some level, you may be aware of energy shifts and changes as they're occurring, or you may just fall into a deep state of relaxation which often has a dream-like quality and is quite blissful.  As blocked emotional energy comes to the surface, you may experience a release in the form of tears, anger or sadness.  This is usually followed by a period of deep relaxation and an increased awareness of one's life possibilities.  You may either feel tired or energized after your session.  In any event, I urge you to rest for at least the following hour (or more, if possible) to help you fully integrate the effects of your healing session.  These effects typically continue to unfold for the following 12 hours or more.

What can I expect from a healing?

This depends upon the general state of your health before you begin the session, your healing intention, your ability to assimilate healing energy and your degree of self-care.  All these factors play a big role in how the healing will continue to unfold after you leave the session.  Many people experience a tangible difference in the way they feel right away, even during the first session.  However, most conditions require a series of sessions to achieve desired, long-lasting results.

A dynamic healing wave is created during the first three to four weeks (of one or two sessions per week).  This eventually translates into physical, emotional and mental changes that will positively effect your life.  The wave of positive expansion ultimately reaches into places of deeper holding, bringing forth dark, unconscious material to the surface and into the light of conscious awareness for eventual healing.

At this point, one may perceive that the healing has not resulted in the desired effect as one may be dealing with painful emotions and feelings of the past.  This is where the true healing actually begins.  Please remember this: it has taken many years to create the conditions that one is seeking to alleviate.  One must allow sufficient time for the healing intention to blossom and unfold.

How many sessions do I need and in what duration?

This depends upon your presenting complaint and your healing intention. Every person is highly individual and is seeking healing for different reasons.  It's therefore difficult to determine with certainty how many sessions you may need without a personal consultation.  You're welcome to telephone me at any time to schedule your free, confidential consultation.

How can I support my healing process between sessions?

You might examine your lifestyle to see if it truly supports you in fulfilling your healing intention.  Here are some questions for you to consider:

1.)  Do you get enough exercise?

2.)  Is your diet fully supporting you?  Do you need to make adjustments?

3.)  Do you get enough rest and relaxation?

4.)  Are you connected to your passion?

5.)  Do you have enough joy in your life, friends and family?

6.)  Do you have any unhealthy or addictive habits?

7.)  How are you connecting to Spirit or Source?

What conditions have you worked on?

I've helped clients with a wide variety of conditions such as asthma, back pain, kidney pain, liver pain, bladder pain, colon restriction and female afflictions, shoulder pain, knee problems, chronic and mysterious pain, depression, anxiety, fear, insomnia, exhaustion and high levels of stress.  I have assisted individuals with the removal of cellular residue from past addictions (such as sugar, tobacco and alcohol) and in the release of traumatic cellular memory.

I've supported clients after the loss of a loved one and after traumatic divorce. I've also assisted clients in their recovery from surgery and during chemotherapy and radiation treatments.  I've assisted clients who've been seeking more life force, creativity, a deeper relationship with Spirit and those who simply desire to connect with their passion and life's purpose.

How are you able to what you do?

As a healing science practitioner, I've studied advanced energy healing and its application for many years.  The basis for my work is love and compassion.  It's this loving, human connection that allows me to work within, stimulate and positively affect the auric field.  Your individual healing intention plays a big role in combination with my intention as a healer.  Other aspects of my healing tools are higher sense perception and access to cellular memory and soul consciousness.

Over the years, I've trained myself to adjust my vibrational frequency to match that of the client and to the level of the field that I'm working within at any particular time.  Basically, I use my hands and fingers as organic 'lasers' to repair and upgrade the human energy field.  I'm able to access all information necessary for your healing directly from your body through a stream of cellular consciousness.

Your physical body and your auric field contain, in their cellular and energetic memory, everything that has ever happened to you.  Even if that information is not accessible beforehand, it may surface during the session as a release of memory as well as of physical and emotional pain.  This work is only possible through the healing aspects of unconditional love.

What is the auric field?

The auric field is our energetic, multi-dimensional support system without which we could have no physical life.  It's composed of interconnecting layers containing the templates of our physical, mental and spiritual bodies.  These templates are composed of lines of light on levels 1, 3, 5 & 7.  Here, standing waveforms of light nourish, inform and repair our physical, mental and spiritual bodies.  The even layers of the field, governing the emotions and the heart (levels 2, 4 & 6), have no structure but are composed of a cloudlike, fluid substance.  Each vital layer of the auric field houses a function and aspect of our being.  The Auric field is a highly organized structure that provides for an optimal flow of life-force energy in a fully balanced system.  (Please refer to "Hands of Light" for more information.)

How does the auric field become damaged or imbalanced?

To some extent, the auric field is self-maintaining.  However, it is also subject to the rigors of life.  Unresolved physical, emotional, mental and spiritual traumas are recorded within the auric field causing clogging and distortion.  These distortions are subsequently broadcast by way of physical and emotional pain and self-limiting belief systems, alerting us to their presence and urging us to take a deeper look, which will hopefully be followed up by the right healing action.  Ultimately, the recognition of these distortions is the beginning of the healing process and will help us restore a healthy balance in our field and life.

(Of course, this is a short explanation to address a very complex system. Please refer to Barbara Ann Brennan’s “Hands of Light” for more information on the Auric Field.  I highly recommend this book to anyone who is undergoing or considering a series of healing sessions, it's an excellent and indispensable guide on your healing journey.)

What are chakras?

Chakras are energy centers or vortices.  They are also called “wheels of light”.  Chakras are an integral part of the auric field.  They are the points of the greatest influx of energy (or light) into the body and into the auric field.  Chakras act as valves and regulate the energy flow between the layers of the field.  They also nourish the organs in the area of their location.  For example the third chakra, which governs our mental body and the quality of our thoughts, is located at the solar plexus.  It has a front and a back aspect.  This chakra nourishes the stomach, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen and the small intestine.  Any disease relating to the above mentioned organs would also be recorded in some way as a distortion in the structure of the chakra.

There are seven major chakras that I work with.  There are, however, many more small ones as well.  There are also chakras in the higher dimensional aspects of our being.  Chakras are an integral part of the energetic structure of the auric field and are subject to distortion by the traumas of life.  (Please refer to “Hands of Light” for more information on the chakras.)
